NEW MUSIC ALERT!
For all you alternative rock and punk fans and those interested in the local music scene, this band should definitely be on your radar!
Based in Philadelphia, The Archivist began as an acoustic outlet for bassist/vocalist Dwayne Banks. The bands aim is to write music that's honest, relatable & vulnerable. Significant inspiration is drawn from bands in the vein of The Forecast, Brand New, & Bayside. Collaborating artists include Joe Freebird (Nobody Yet), Joe Francolino (Sleep In.) and Daryl Hannah (Pyramids). Producer/Engineer Eric McNelis (Sweet Pill, TwentyThreeNineteen, Dryjacket) has also been a crucial contributor to The Archivist sound. Since recording Erik Walker has joined on rhythm guitar.
Their newest and debut single together as a band is called 'Fairytale Endings' which will be dropping on all the major streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Pandora, YouTube). It'll be available for download on Bandcamp & Soundcloud as well! You'll even be able to request it on IHeart Radio!
I had the opportunity to listen to the track before its official release. To start off, the production on the song is rich and perfectly mixed! What I always usually find with many alternative tracks is that usually one or more instruments id drowned out or is overpowering the other, but you can clearly hear all the instrumentation that went into this song! The vocals also really shine through as well. In terms of lyricism, I think this song can speak to so many people who feel like they're always falling short or they never get their own 'Fairytale Ending'.
For their first official single release as a band, this is a really awesome and impressive song! If you like bands such as Sweet Pill or Dryjacket and alternative rock/punk is your thing, you will love this track! Check it out for yourself on February 12th on all major streaming platforms!
